The Travel division of the EatOut Group, part of the Ibersol Group, has opened a Food Market at the Barcelona Airport.

This new space features a Food Court format that, under the “Food Market” banner, offers various eating options in one place and allows travellers to sit down and enjoy different culinary varieties. It offers a complete range of eating options designed to cater to the tastes and needs of customers at any time.

It is located in the central part of Terminal 2, a strategic location inside the airport, Spain’s second busiest and one of the busiest internationally, given the high passenger volume. It has a large surface area of 622 m2 and can accommodate over 290 guests.

The Food Market contains four establishments that are well-known to consumers: Coffee Republic, O Mamma Mia, and two new concepts (in the Travel channel) that the Group is franchising in airports: Central Café and Wok Street.

Initially, the Central Café brand was renowned for being one of the first quality coffee shops in Barcelona. Over time, the brand has managed to develop a format designed to help people eat a healthy and balanced diet, thus becoming a leader in the health trend in Barcelona. These days, its menu offers sandwiches, basic salads, super food salads, cold soups, sides for dipping, and more.

In contrast, Wok Street is a new, modern restaurant concept offering Asian fast food. It is characterised by its open-kitchen format, with fresh products prepared in full view of the customer and ample menu options that cater to all types of consumers and diet preferences, such as vegetarian and vegan. The basis of the meals are wok-fried noodles, rice and vegetables, combined to suit the customer’s taste and served with their choice of sauce.

Also available to consumers who drop by the Food Market are products from Coffee Republic, a leading coffee brand in the United Kingdom whose philosophy is “having what you want, how you want it and when you want it”. The quality of its freshly roasted coffee beans and its large variety of specialities earn it the title of “the coffee experts”. It also offers a wide range of baked goods and cakes made every day, as well as fresh smoothies, complemented by a menu of healthy items that includes sandwiches, wraps, salads, fruit and artisanal yoghurts.

The opening of the Food Market is part of the 19 points of sale AENA awarded to the EatOut Group in the Barcelona Airport in March 2018, which will be valid for 8 years, until 2026.
