Both openings are part of the six points of sale contracts awarded by AENA to EatOut Travel, which will operate the restaurants for eight years, until 2026. With these new additions, the Group will manage a total of 13 Café Pans in Spain’s travel sector. The company will remodel four other establishments in the Gran Canaria Airport in coming months, where it will manage brands like Dehesa Santamaría, Caffè di Fiore and Coffee Republic.
Ibersol Travel España, the travel restaurant division of Grupo Ibersol, has opened two Café Pans establishments in the Gran Canaria Airport. With these new additions, the Group will have a total of 13 Café Pans in Spain’s travel sector by the end of this year, which will be located in the airports of Barcelona, Madrid, Menorca, Bilbao and, soon, in Malaga, as well as in several high-speed rail stations.
Both openings, located in the arrivals and regional departures areas of the Gran Canaria Airport, are part of the six points of sale that were awarded to EatOut Travel by AENA in late 2017, and which the Group will manage for eight years, until 2026.
The restaurant in the arrivals area has a total of 150 m2, and can seat over 70 visitors. The restaurant in the Regional Departures lounge has a surface area of 242 m2 and can seat 151 guests.
Due to the characteristics of the format, the Café Pans establishments of EatOut Travel are being very well received by the public. This is a new business concept launched by Pans&Company, characterised by very cosy and comfortable spaces where people can relax and enjoy a good coffee and artisanal pastries while they wait to board their flights.
The company is also hard at work remodelling four other establishments in the Gran Canaria Airport, where it will manage other brands like Dehesa Santamaría, Caffè di Fiore and Coffee Republic. These are expected to be fully operational in coming weeks, with the opening of a sixth restaurant in April 2019 completing the contract.
